My practice centers on the representation of clients involved in expert-intensive, complex litigation.  I primarily handle medical malpractice, product liability and vulnerable adult cases.  I am also “Of Counsel” to the national firm Klein, Thomas & Lee (www.kleinthomaslaw.com).  Most of my clients are insurance companies, but I do accept direct representation matters on occasion.

I also routinely represent healthcare providers and other professionals in front of a variety of licensing Boards, including the following:

  • Arizona Medical Board

  • Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners

  • Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners

  • Arizona State Board of Nursing

  • Arizona Board of Behavioral Health

  • Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board

  • Arizona Board of Respiratory Care Examiners

  • Arizona Board of Funeral Directors & Embalmers

My product liability practice spans everything from automotive, medical, household items, and computer devices.  I have developed a niche practice centering on fires.  Over the course of my career, I have represented a number of Fortune 500 companies, including Honda, Subaru, General Motors, General Electric, Samsung, Sanyo, Bovie, and others.

Over the course of my career, I have managed litigation involving physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, dentists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, podiatrists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, chiropractors, behavioral health professionals, veterinarians, and just about every branch of the healthcare profession. I have taken numerous cases with multi-million-dollar exposure to trial and mediation, and I am comfortable using technology to keep massive amounts of data organized and available for presentation in the courtroom.

I am drawn to malpractice litigation because I find the work fascinating, and because of the caliber of experts I get to work with on a daily basis.  Ask just about any trial court judge and they will tell you that the attorneys who take on medical malpractice cases are among the most talented litigators they see.  There are a surprisingly small number of attorneys in Arizona who routinely handle malpractice matters because the exposure can be quite high, and because a higher percentage of these cases go to trial than in other areas of law.  This is not an area of law for attorneys who are timid or who want to avoid the courtroom. It is also an area of law where there are fewer and fewer experienced trial attorneys available to do the work because for decades most cases have been handled by attorneys who are now retiring from the practice.  I am becoming increasingly selective in the new clients I accept as a result.

I started my career as a prosecutor, where I tried literally hundreds of cases in front of judges.  Now with over twenty-five (25) years of experience, I have successfully taken nearly sixty (60) jury trials to verdict.  I enjoy the art of persuasion so much that before I went to law school, I obtained my Master’s degree in Communications.  Being a litigator is my passion.
